About Me

Taryn Hillin is a screenwriter and former journalist living in Los Angeles, CA. She’s currently a staff writer on S3 of Twisted Metal (Peacock) and in the NBC-Universal TV Writers Program.

Prior to screenwriting, Taryn made a name for herself in media as a writer and producer for TMZ, an editor for The Huffington Post, a reporter for Fusion (the millennial-focused joint venture from ABC and Univision), and VP of Strategy for Entity Mag (a digital site focused on college-aged women and mentorship). Her reported work has been cited by The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, The Washington Post, Slate and more.

Taryn’s creative writing includes screenplays, books, short films and plays.  She co-wrote the horror film Pernicious (directed by James Cullen Bressack) and co-wrote Stranger In Paradise (starring Stuart Townsend and Colin Egglesfield).  With a passion for Young Adult books and films her YA work includes The Imati (published YA supernatural-fantasy novel).

She is currently in the NBC TV Writer’s program and an alum of the Universal Pictures Writers Lab and Sony Television Diverse Writers Program.

She graduated from Yale University with a degree in Political Science and Comparative Government, with a focus on the Middle East. She was once rejected by the CIA. And hates writing about herself in third person.
